rambling

I haven't posted anything in a while so I decided I would allow myself to just sit with a computer screen and keyboard with no goal in mind. I've had some down time this week after a busy weekend and it has really given me the chance to just think. Amidst all the opinions of murder trials and presidents (which get real old... so much though that its tempting to cancel the FB account!), I really enjoy being able to just sit on my couch and read a book. I'm currently working my way through all the Emily Giffin books and they have each proved to be just right to read. They're what I call good, girly, "fluff" reads - you know the good ole books that you don't have to think about in order to really follow it.

I spent the last weekend with a lot of close friends from back home. I started off helping my bestest sell off all the unnecessary things in her house before she moves out and starts building their new home. We sold so much stuff! I'm so proud of her and her family being able to start this new exciting project! It was great to spend time with Casey and all three of her kiddos. Being away, I don't realize how quickly they grow until I see them again. That evening a group of us went out to dinner and to a concert. There are things that never change, and that's what I love about that group of people.

Kyle and I with Casey and her husband, "Gump" (okay... he's really Derrick, but we all love him as "Gump")
I've started to realize that school starting back is nearing and I'm having mixed emotions about that. (What teacher doesn't, right?!) I'm starting to crave my daily schedule and looking forward to meeting my new kiddos. Now, I'm not gonna go beg for school to start tomorrow, but I will say that it's kind of okay that August is getting closer with each day.

This weekend, Kyle and I will finally be staying put. We're spending a weekend IN Pineville and I can't say how excited I am. We are such "go-ers" but sometimes I am ready to just be in our house that we are still trying to make into a home. We'll be able to do some yard work, house work, and be able to be at our home church again for the first time in over a month. It's hard to believe we placed membership there over a year ago. It has truly been amazing to watch how God works in that place. It has been an answered prayer for us and we are both ready to be back this Sunday.

Maybe there'll be some excitement in the next week or so to write about, but until then... ramblings it is.
